Sara Runkel directs all aspects of The Seed Farm, including the training programs, equipment trials and the market garden demonstration. She joined the Seed Farm after running her own organic vegetable farm for several years. She has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and a M.S. is Sustainable Systems from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
Tianna DuPont is an Educator in Sustainable Agriculture for Penn State Cooperative Extension in Northampton and Lehigh Counties working with organics, soil health, cover crops, reduced tillage, grazing and new farmers. She has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Whitman College of Washington and an M.S. in Integrated Pest Management from the University of California at Davis.
Jeff Zehr is the Director of Lehigh County’s Farmland Preservation Program. Under Jeff’s leadership, the County has preserved 20,000 acres of farmland with perpetual agricultural conservation easements.
Jeff has served as President of the Pennsylvania Farmland Preservation Association and he is currently the Chairman of the Pike Township Environmental Advisory Council. Jeff lives on a small family farm in the Oley Hills in Pike Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
