Two-Wheel Tractor Workshop

Sunday, October 16, 2022 | 10am-4pm

Held at The Seed Farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Rd, Emmaus 18064

Get hands-on training with the BCS walk-behind tractor and hear from growers who have integrated this equipment into their production plan. Two-wheel, walk-behind tractors have become a powerful tool of choice for many small scale growers!

Join us at The Seed Farm in Lehigh County where Farm Manager, Neil Singh, and PASA’s Diversified Vegetable Pre-Apprenticeship Program Associate, Lisa Miskelly, will discuss and demonstrate the uses, basic maintenance, and safe operation of this versatile tool. We’ll review attachments including the flail mower, rotary plow, rototiller, and sickle bar. Each participant will get an opportunity for supervised hands-on practice. We will also hear from growers Emily Stocker and Dean Buttacavoli of Cabbage Throw Farm who use a two-wheel tractor as an integral part of their minimum tillage operation. Cabbage Throw Farm is a Certified Organic 1.5 acre market garden located in NJ’s fertile Musconetcong River Valley.

This program is funded by AgConnect, an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council supported by the private sector and grant funds received from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

Registration: $20, lunch is provided
